BLAKESLEE KATHY M. BLAKESLEE, R.N. (nee Lester) age 63, of Elyria passed away in her home on Monday September 29, 2014. She was born on May 15, 1951 in Cleveland. She was a 1969 graduate of John Marshall High School.In 1975, she graduated as a licensed practical nurse from the Lakewood School of Nursing. In 1990, she graduated as a registered nurse from Lorain County Community College. She dedicated more than half of her life working as a nurse and caring for others. She especially loved working in critical care and with elderly. Kathy was an avid animal lover and "mother" to many cats throughout the years. She also enjoyed crafting, gardening, photography and watching football. Kathy is survived by her husband, Russell T. Blakeslee. Son, Darren Petrauskis. Daughter, Dawn Minnich (nee Petrauskis). Grandsons, Cody Smith, Sean Minnich and Alex Petrauskis. Step-children, Brent Blakeslee, Jodi Fannin (Eric) and Jason Blakeslee. Step-grandchildren, Garrett and Gavin Fannin. Brother Deacon Robert Lester (Karen). Nephews, Val (Diona), Johnny and Brett Lester. Step-mother Ann Lester. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Dorothy (nee Fazzone) Lester. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday November 15, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 12700 Pearl Rd., Strongsville, Ohio at 10:00 AM. There will be a luncheon following the mass.
