Our beloved Mike was born in 1941 in Herbert, PA., the third born child of Mike and Anna (Molchan) Rocheck. Mike was also the dear brother of Edward, Annette Orslene, Elaine Hippley, Barbara Kubitza, Albert, Elizabeth Bailey and the late Kenneth. Mike spent the majority of his younger years in New Salem, PA. It was during high school in Uniontown where Mike met his beloved wife, Bernice (nee Spooner). Mike and Bernice were married in December of 1962 and together moved to Lakewood, Ohio and in 1972 moved to Brunswick, Ohio. Mike began a successful career with investigative firm, Research Associates, where he eventually became a Partner. During his time with the company, he was the Cleveland representative for the NFL and NBA and enjoyed sharing the perks of his clients with family and friends. Mike was a man of many personalities and interests who kept himself very busy, engaging in hobbies and passions from woodworking and fishing to golfing and hunting at the cabin with his buddies; he was also a mentor and friend to many. Of all of Mike's interests, his family was his favorite and the craft that he was most proud of mastering. Together, Bernice and Mike raised three wonderful children, Michael R (Carlene), Cheryl Philipps (Chris) and Craig (Laura). As much as Mike adored being a father, he especially loved being a "Poppie" to his five grandchildren, Samantha (Tom) Brewster, Kayleigh and Dylan Rocheck, Michelle and Alexandra Philipps, whom he affectionately donned lifelong nicknames to of Buttercup, Dirty Nosed Girl, Dudeman, Shorty and Boo. Mike also became a great grandfather in 2014 to Kobe Michael, a baby that may not remember his Poppie in flesh, but will always know of him through loving memories and special moments made with family. Mike had very special relationships with all of his kids and grandkids, and enjoyed coaching all three of his children in BYS while they were growing up. Mike was always available to help his kids with a renovation or adventure, and never shied away when time could be spent together. Mike supported his son Michael's initiative to start a special needs baseball league in Medina County, and remained involved with Special Olympics throughout the rest of his life, most recently as golfing buddy to his only and very special grandson, Dylan, on his Special Olympics Golf League. Mike bestowed a love of the moon and the ocean in all of his loved ones, and was the first to dip all of his grandkids, and great-grandson's, toes in the Atlantic. As a father and grandfather, all of Mike's kids were made to feel very special, and in return, he was very loved, and will continue to be thought of whenever they look to the moon. Upon Mike's retirement in 1994, he and Bernice took many unforgettable fishing trips to Canada with Mike's retired-Partner, Dave Wible, and his wife Dorothy. They were also lucky to have the opportunity to road trip all over the United States, eventually making it to 45/50 states. The two also owned homes in both Florida and South Carolina, making it possible to host extraordinary family vacations with sun kissed babies and sandy toes. Mike and Bernice recently took their last trip together to Europe to visit their granddaughter and new great grandson, visiting the UK, Italy, Poland and the Czech Republic. Mike served in the U.S. Army Reserves, was an active member of St Colette Parish, The Holy Name Society and "The Handyman Crew" and a devout Catholic throughout his life. May he rest in peace.
