Petru Iela

Dearly beloved husband for 57 years of Maria. Loving father of Daniela "Dana" (Richard) Price and Simona Iela (Laurent Pourthier). Dearest grandfather of Andreea, Alexandru and Lucas. Dear brother of Ioan (deceased) and Mihai, both of Romania.

Petru was a wonderful, hardworking family man who was a skilled cabinet maker. Petru was imprisoned by the communist regime for his religious beliefs and finally fled Romania in 1983 with his two daughters. The family was reunited with his wife Maria, who had heroically escaped Romania by floating over the Danube River in the middle of the night, 13 months before. Maria and bunica Eva " Mita" Anderca were waiting in Cleveland, where they started a new life.

Visitation August 5, 2021, Thursday 5-8 pm at the Romanian Baptist Church 581 East Ridgewood Dr. Seven Hills Ohio 44131. Thursday night Services at 7pm at Church. Funeral Service Friday at 12:30 pm at Church. Burial West Park Cemetery.
