Ricarda Arroyo

Ricarda Arroyo (nee: Davila) age 83, passed away July 12, 2024.  Loving mother to Shirley Arroyo and William "Bill" Arroyo (Maria).  Former wife and friend to Angel L. Arroyo. Beloved grandmother to Angelica Stiffy, James Stiffy, Christian Stiffy, William Arroyo and Jennifer Arroyo.

She was born in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico on March 10, 1941 to Gabriel and Teresa Davila.  Rica was born into a large, close-knit, loving family. In 1959, she relocated to Cleveland to join her siblings.  A few years later, she met and married, Angel L. Arroyo and welcomed their first child Shirley Ann. Two years later, their son William, that completed their family.

In addition to being a loving wife and mother, she worked as a lamp shade designer for a local company. She loved making clothing for herself and her children, in their younger years.Rica enjoyed cooking and often hosted family dinners were she loved visiting with her extended family and friends. She also enjoyed gardening, going out to eat and shopping with her children and nieces. 

She was hardworking with a strong work ethic; she passed these traits on to her children. In her later years, she enjoyed being with her grandchildren, Angelica (30), James (26), Christian (24), William (23) and Jennifer (21).  She always ensured they were well fed. Rica valued her time with all of her grandchildren and loved them with all her heart.  She comforted them, danced with them, visited parks with them, and attended school functions.   She also enjoyed their sporting events and shopping together.

Rica was a courageous fighter that inspired her family during her decline in health.
