

Ruben G. Escandon was called to his heavenly home on November 26, 2025, at the age of 69, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, generosity, and a love for life that touched everyone who knew him. Ruben lived every day with purpose and joy. He had a gift for lighting up any room he walked into, his smile easy, his presence comforting, and his spirit impossible to forget.
Ruben was born in Fairview Park and spent his early years in Lorain, Ohio. He was a proud graduate of Lorain High School Class of 1974. He went on to work at Ford’s Cleveland Engine and Cleveland Casting Plant, where he built many lasting friendships before retiring. Ruben was a proud member of UAW Local 1250.
A dedicated father, a loving son, and a caring husband, Ruben was the heart and soul of his family. He held them together with quiet strength, endless compassion, and a deep, unwavering love. His devotion to the people he cherished was evident in every moment he shared with them.
Ruben is survived by his wife, Nancy Bryant; his mother, Felicita; his children, Elizabeth Escandon, Ruben E. Escandon, and Evelyn Marie Wilmot; and his grandchildren, Ethan and Joseph Shores, who brought him immense pride and joy. He is also survived by his siblings, Archee Escandon, Patrick Escandon, Jimmy Escandon, Richard Escandon, Johnny Escandon, Lucy Escandon, George Escandon, and Roy Escandon.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Escandon, whose memory he honored throughout his life.
Though Ruben’s time on earth has ended, his love, humor, and boundless warmth will continue to echo in the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know him. His family and friends will carry his light forward, forever grateful for the years they shared.
The family will receive friends on WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 3, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the beginning of a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at the A. RIPEPI AND SONS FUNERAL HOME, 18149 BAGLEY ROAD, MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS (WEST OF I-71). Interment will follow at Woodvale Cemetery.
