Born in Cleveland, she was the beloved daughter of the late Frank and Anita Ziegler. Susan was the devoted wife of 38 years to Michael N. Lavu; a loving mother to Sara Lavu and Nicole (Patrick) Peters; and a cherished Nana to Maxwell and Theodore Peters. She was a dear sister to Christopher Ziegler, and an adored sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend to many.
Together with her husband Michael, Susan proudly owned and operated Myktek Dental Lab Inc. in Middleburg Heights for 30 years, retiring in 2025.
Susan had a deep love for life’s simple joys. She enjoyed traveling, especially beach vacations, attending the theater, shopping, cooking, and hosting family gatherings. She treasured holidays and time spent surrounded by loved ones. She also had a special place in her heart for animals, including her cat Lily and her dogs, Freeway and Maggie. Known for her loyalty, kindness, creativity, and welcoming spirit, Susan touched the lives of all who knew her.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at A. Ripepi & Sons Funeral Home, 18149 Bagley Rd., Middleburg Heights, OH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 12700 Pearl Rd., Strongsville, OH. (Please meet at church.)
Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Cleveland..
