“How blessed are the dead who die united with the Lord,...” Revelation 14:13b
Loretta Snead passed from this life, surrounded by family, on February 1, following a stroke, in Middletown, OH where she was visiting for a family wedding. She is the beloved wife of Loren Snead. They were married for nearly 66 years, having eloped with him at the age of 16. Together they raised three children, Jim (Susan), David (dec.), and Ginger (Frank Upshaw) and have been blessed with nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Loretta was born in Grants Pass, Oregon to Vernon & Edna (Beltz) Boyce and was a long-time resident of Red Bluff, CA.
Loretta loved the Lord Jesus and walked faithfully with Him, looking forward to the day when she would meet Him face to face. Her death was one she anticipated with joy and while we were shocked and grieved by her sudden passing, we know that she went exactly as she desired: quick, without lingering, having the work set before her completed. She was well loved and was “Nama” to many outside of her family. She leaves a large hole and is dearly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the First Southern Baptist Church at 585 Kimball Rd in Red Bluff on February 26 at 11 am.
