Howard L. “Pete” Hounshell, age 83 of Middletown passed away Thursday, April 9, 2020 at Butler-Warren Hospice. He was born in Crab Orchard, Kentucky on August 31, 1936. He was the son of Roy and Eva (Ingle) Hounshell.
Howard is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Sue Hounshell and son Scott (Katherine) Hounshell and five grandchildren, Kaitlyn Noble, Ryan Brooklyn, Amberlyn and Declan Hounshell. Other survivors include daughter-in-law, Kim Hounshell; sister-in-law, Kay Hounshell; four nieces, Vicki, Veronica, Debbie and April; nephew, Roy Hounshell.
He was preceded in death by his son, David J. Hounshell in 2019; brothers, Homer D. Hounshell, Marion E. Hounshell and sister Mildred Smith Jacobs.
Howard was a pipefitter for 39 years at Armco Steel. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard as a Master Sergeant.
In lieu of flowers, donation could be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 700 South Marshall Road, Middletown, OH 45044 or a charity of your choice.
Services will be private for the family. Rev. Wynston Dixon will officiate at the private service. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Howard enjoyed outdoor activities, fishing and traveling. He will be missed by friends and family.
