

He served in the United States Army for three years, then he earned his BA in Christian Education at Southeastern Bible College in Florida. Joe was a youth pastor in his hometown before moving to Middletown, Ohio, where he worked at IKO until he retired. Joe along with his family attended Newspring Church in Springboro, Ohio. Joe’s life was a testament to kindness, generosity, and a profound faith in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Joe’s infectious smile could light up a room, and his warm presence was a blessing to all who knew him. Known for his unwavering love and devotion, Joe never had a harsh word to speak and always went out of his way to help others. His faith was evident in every aspect of his life, guiding his actions and interactions with everyone he met.
Joe is survived by his devoted wife, Linda Lester, and their son, Michael Lester of Middletown, Ohio. He is also lovingly remembered by his two sisters, Faye Isom of North Carolina and Guy Anna (Richard) Maxwell of Alabama, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Graham Lester and Kate Lester, and his siblings: sister Ola Mae Isom and brothers Robert Lester, William Lester, Dale Lester, and Dempsey Lester.
A Memorial Service to honor Joe’s life will be held on September 28, 2024 at Newspring Church, 1150 S Main St. Springboro, Ohio. Friends and family are invited to gather from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, and celebrate the remarkable man he was in a celebration of life service starting at 12:00 pm with Pastor Shannon Wooten officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Linda Lester to support Michael Lester during this time.
Joe will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure to know him. His spirit and love will continue to inspire and guide those he touched throughout his life.
