Mary Elisabeth Steele

Mary Elisabeth Steele, age 89, of Monroe, Ohio (formerly of Broomall, Pennsylvania) passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022. Mary was born November 21, 1932 in Perryville, Maryland, the daughter of Joseph and Beulah (Todd) White, whose family were watermen and residents of Hollands Island in the Chesapeake Bay.

Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a kind, sweet and compassionate person. She always had a smile. Mary was a member of Berean Baptist Church, Monroe, Ohio. While in Pennsylvania, she actively ministered with Spruce Street Baptist Church in Newtown Square, PA and Bible Covenant Baptist Church in Media, PA.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her two sisters, Anna Grace and Eunice and two brothers, Joseph and Otis.

Mary is survived by her husband of 65 years, William Steele; daughter, Lisa (Tom) Wiggershaus; grandchildren, Heidi (Anselmo) Rodriguez, Erich (Sydney) Wiggershaus; and great grandchildren, Emiliano Rodriguez, Isabella Rodriguez and Adelaide Wiggershaus.

Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 am on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Berean Baptist Church, 6342 Hamilton-Middletown Road, Middletown, OH 45044. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 am with Pastor Steve Botts officiating. Burial will be at Woodside Cemetery.
