Bastiaantje was born April 7, 1925 in Rotterdam, Holland. She married John Raymond Folger on June 27, 1945 in Heerlen, Holland, before moving from Holland to Nebraska as a war bride. She then moved to Midland, Texas in 1954 and worked as a bookkeeper for John’s Exxon station, before moving to McCamey in 1993, and then to Angleton in 2007.
Bastiaantje is preceded in death by her parents Jan Van Roon and Rika (Bettenbroek) Van Roon; brother, Leenert Van Roon; and sister, Elsin Mueller. She is also preceded by loving husband, John Raymond Folger who passed away on July 11, 1991.
Bastiaantje is survived by her sons Mike Folger, and wife, Iris, and Randy Folger, and wife, Tammie; grandchildren, Kelsey Folger and wife Jenny, Kristi Laverty and husband Matt, Kourtney Mullins and husband, Michael; and great-grandchildren, Grant Folger, Ande Folger, Hannah Folger, Kallen Laverty, and Addison Mullins.
A funeral service is scheduled for Friday, September 23, 2011 at the Ellis Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home of Midland, Texas. Condolences may be made at: www.ellisfunerals.com.
