She was preceded in death by her loving husband, her brothers Edward and Bob Roberts, and her sisters Opal Morris and Jerri Hurst.
Bernice is survived by her son James Lee Johnson, his wife Paula Jane Johnson, her grandchildren, Brandie Shoemaker and Michael Johnson, and great grandchildren, Hannah, Milam, Morgan, and Jimmy.
After her first grandchild she became known to all as Memaw. Bernice was a born again Christian, an example to her family and friends for the remaining years of her life. She was a member of Crestview Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher for many years.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Resthaven Memorial Park with Reverend Clay Porter officiating.
