

Christina M. Gaytan went peacefully to be with her Heavenly Father in her home in Midland, on June1, 2011. She was born in Midland, Texas to Paulino and Wensalda Mendoza on June 23, 1928. At a young age she moved to Mexico where she married Roberto Gaytan. Later she moved to Lansing, Michigan. She retired from Michigan State University on January, 1992 and moved to Midland, Texas.
Christina’s biggest love was being with her family and making sure they were provided with guidance and spiritual upbringing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roberto Gaytan and six siblings.
Left to cherish her memory include her son Rodolfo (Rudy) Gaytan, and wife Frances, of Lansing, MI; her daughters Concepcion (Concha) Salazar and husband, Rogelio; Armida (Chata) Melendez, and husband, Juan; Esmeralda (Esy) Fahrner, all of Midland, and Carmen Saenz and husband, Demetrio of Terrell, TX.
Christina is also survived by her sisters, Olga Reyes of Midland and Merejildo Mendoza of Lansing, MI; and brothers; Paulino Mendoza, and Thomas Mendoza, both of Odessa and Marta Mendoza of Ca. She had twelve grandchildren and several great grand children, and many relatives.
A rosary will be said Friday, June 3, 2011 at 7:00 pm at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Condolences may be left at www.ellisfunerals.com
