Douglas Sawyer Rutledge

Douglas Sawyer Rutledge, of Lenorah, TX, passed away Sunday, September 05, 2010. He was born May 11, 1987 to Jon Rutledge and Shirilla Sawyer Rutledge in Lubbock, Texas. Douglas graduated from Grady High School in 2005 where he was a member of the 2003-2004 state championship basketball team. He also graduated with a certificate in Aviation Mechanics from Midland College in 2007. Douglas worked in the Petroleum Industry and as a cowboy on the Holcomb Cattle Ranch in Lenorah, TX. Douglas was preceded in death by his grandfather, George Sawyer and uncles, Randy Rutledge, Jimmy Sawyer and Joe Sawyer. He is survived by his parents; his brother, Mason Rutledge of Lenorah, TX; grandmother, Gwen Sawyer of Midland, TX ; grandparents, Bunky and Carolyn Rutledge of Bracketville, TX; uncles, Dennis Sawyer of Houston, TX and Roy Rutledge of Monahans, TX ; aunt, Karen Austin of Lubbock, TX; step mother, Patsy Rutledge of Midland, TX ; step brothers, Joshua and Jesse James; step sister, Latasha Johnson; and nieces, Amy and Shelby Johnson all of Providence, TX. The family will receive friends at Ellis Funeral Home on Monday, September 6, 2010 between the hours of 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM. Funeral services have been scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at True Lite Christian Fellowship with Pastor Roy Smith officiating.
