Edward "Max" Maxwell Harris

Edward Maxwell Harris passed away Monday, May 24, 2010. He was born in Monticello, Arkansas on September 26, 1931 to Bertie Maxwell and Travis Vernon Harris. They moved to Eudora, Arkansas where he graduated from Eudora High School in 1949. He then entered the University of Central Arkansas and graduated with a BSE in 1953. He Was a member of the UCA football team and championship track team. He met his future wife at UCA, and they were married June 7, 1953. He served two years in the U.S. Army. He then joined The Travelers Insurance Company in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was transferred to Lubbock, Texas for three years, and then to Midland, Texas, which became home for the next 49 years. He owned and operated an insurance agency, Max Harris & Co., for 25 years. He was a partner in Mc Vean & Barlow, Inc. in Odessa, Texas. Max is survived by his wife, Fern; two daughters, Vicki Lynn Harris of Cameron, Texas; Travis Anne Michael and husband Terry of Midland; five grandchildren, Ryan Roberts and wife Ashley of Midland; Robyn Roberts of Cameron, Texas; Matthew Michael of Midland, Texas; Tobi Michael Kibbe and husband Avery of Falfurrias, Texas; and Caitlin Michael of Fort Worth; two great granddaughters, Brittney and Rakeal of Cameron, Texas; brother, Jay and his wife Charlotte of McKinney, Texas; niece, Blake Morgan and husband Rick and children Taylor & Thomas, of Alpharett, GA; nephew, Paul Harris and wife Lucinda of Austin, Texas; and nephew, Jim Harris and wife Jackie of Plano, Texas. Funeral services have been scheduled for 11:00 A.M., Thursday, May 27, 2010, at St. Mark's United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
