Franklin "Frank" Ray Doyle

On July 11, 2011 at 12:37 PM God called Frank home. Franklin “Frank” Ray Doyle of Midland, Texas was born February 5, 1935 in Corpus Christi, Texas to George Franklin Doyle and Fannie Bell Vannoy Doyle. Frank was raised and educated in Detroit, Texas prior to moving to Midland. Frank graduated from Detroit High School in 1954. After high school Frank joined the U.S. Air Force and proudly served his country, being honorably discharged after 4 years of service. After serving his country he moved to Victoria, Texas prior to moving to what he called “God’s Country” which is, Alaska in 1968, Frank lived in different towns in Alaska for the next 38 years. During that time he learned the trade of Pipe fitting. Frank worked the Great Alaska Pipeline and on the Aleutian Chain. He also worked for Honeywell as a builder for refineries. He retired to care for his ailing wife Dorothy, who passed away in October 2001. Frank moved back to Midland 9 years ago to be close to his family. For the last 9 years Frank worked for Thurman floors as a tile and carpet installer.

Frank was a 32nd Mason and a Shriner. He will be deeply missed by all he impacted. Frank never knew a stranger and would give you the shirt off his back. He was a very caring and loving man. He was always willing to help anyone in need.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents George and Fannie and his wife Dorothy.

Frank is survived by his sister Bertha Thurman and her husband, Bob; brother C. Jerry Doyle and his wife, Joy; brother Robert Doyle; three nieces Donna Doyle, Debby Doyle, and Kimberlee Doyle; one nephew Ryan Doyle and his fiancée, Chrissy Rowlett; one aunt and numerous cousins.

Family will receive friends at Ellis Funeral Home on Thursday, July 14, 2011 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Services will be held on Friday, July 15, 2011 at the Ellis Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM with Pastor Randall McDonald officiating.
