Hazel H. Hudson Gibson

Hazel H. Gibson was born in Mexia, Texas on February 7, 1924. She went to meet her Lord Jesus on December 22, 2013. Hazel graduated valedictorian of her class in 1941 at the State Home High School in Corsicana, Texas. After graduation she attended Draughon Business College in Wichita Falls, Texas. During World War II she worked at Shepherd Air Force Base. Following the war she moved to Ft. Worth, Texas where she worked for Consolidated Aircraft. She moved to Midland, Texas in 1970 and worked for Joseph I. O’Neill Oil Company until her retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church for 43 years and volunteered at the Baptist Crisis Center for 17 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Mary Hudson; her granddaughter, Jamie Robbins; her husband of 63 years, Marvin A. Gibson.

Hazel is survived by her daughter, Patricia Robbins and husband Jim; her son, Mark Gibson and wife Elizabeth; her son, Stephen Gibson and wife Sharon; her three granddaughters: Katie Guist, Ashley Welch and Kari Jones; her grandson, Andy Robbins; her great grandson, Trace Welch; her sister Rose Marie Johnson and husband Bob and numerous nephews and nieces.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 27, 2013 at 2:00pm at First Baptist Church. Online condolences may be offered at www.ellisfunerals.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Midland or the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
