Jesse Allen Messmer

Jess was a lifelong Farmer, Cattle Rancher, Athlete, and Sportsman. He served his country as an E6 military policeman in Korea during the Vietnam Era. He retired after 30 years as a maintenance mechanic. He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Jesse was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his family and friends with all his heart. He gave his time and talent freely. He will be greatly missed and greatly remembered.

Jesse was preceded in death by his parents David Allen Messmer and Jessie Imogene Milam Messmer, his sister Peggy Ann Messmer, and his grandparents Jesse and Clara Milam.

Left to cherish Jesse’s memory are his wife Kathy Yates Messmer, son Shawn Messmer and wife Rhonda of Wellsville, KS, daughters Brenda Lang-Del Castillo and husband Patrick, Lisa Spitzley and husband Keith of Westpahlia, MI, and Laura Bowling and husband Roy of Midland, TX. He is also survived by his grandchildren John Tyler Messmer, Matthew Lang, Lee Messmer, Taylor Spitzley, Lindsey Spitzley, Sarah Lang, Kyle Spitzley, Derek Spitzley, Kate Bowling, Leah Del Castillo, Faith Spitzley, Nathan Bowling, Clara Bowling, Madeline Grace Bowling and Mary Analise Bowling.

A Rosary will be held on Monday July 8, 2013 at 7pm at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday July 9, 2013 at 2pm at St. Ann’s Catholic Church.
