Jim Sorrells

Jim Sorrells, 52, of Midland, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2011. He was born on December 2, 1958 to Allen Richard Sorrells and Marie Mitchell. He was employed by Community National Bank for the past 8 years. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and D.J. Jim’s passion was music and playing the drums. He was also involved in BMX Racing with his children and was looking forward to teaching and watching his grandchildren race.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, and grandmother, Vera Lewis.

Jim is survived by his wife, Sharon Sorrells; sons, Jimmy Sorrells and Mykl Sorrells of Midland; son, Dwayne, and wife, Tiffany Morris, of Fort Stockton; step-son, Brit and wife, Michelle Slatton of Ennis; daughter, Elizabeth, and husband, Micah Fox of Midland; brother, Tom Sorrells; and sister, Pam Dykes. Also left to cherish and honor his memory are his grandchildren, Trevor Hudnall, Dylan and Delila Sorrells, Gabriel Fox, and Troy and Jeremy Slatton.

Family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, November 3, 2011 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Ellis Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 4, 2011 at 10:00am at the Ellis Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Cisco Cemetery in Cisco, Texas at 3:30pm on Friday, November 4, 2011.
