

Jimmie King, 81, of Midland, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2012. Jimmie was born on April 23, 1930 in Cleburne, Texas to C.D. and Rosa Lou Myers. Jimmie worked for Southwestern Bell for 42 years, where she started out as an operator and ended her career as a supervisor. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She was a loving, caring, wonderful grandmother to all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also, Jimmie was very strong in her Methodist faith.
Jimmie is preceded in death by both of her parents; her loving husband, Henry E. King; two brothers, H.W. (Bitsy) Myers and Charles (Bo) Myers; two sisters, Gearlene (Biggie) Timmons and Gearldene (Bill) Rosser.
Survivors include her two sons, Charles King and wife Lisa of Greenville, Texas and Christopher Shane King of Midland, Texas; and her daughter Brenda Moore and husband, Eddie, of Midland, Texas. Also left to cherish her memory are eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at the Ellis Funeral Home from 6:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. Funeral service is planned for Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 10:00a.m. at the Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearer will be Gene Rosser.
