

Jimmy Douglas “Killer” Kilgore, 70, of Midland passed away December 1, 2012 in Odessa, Texas after a lengthy illness. He was born on March 28, 1942 in O’Donnell, Texas to Avadell and Charles Daniel Kilgore. He was a retired deputy with Midland Sheriff’s Department where he received his nickname Killer Kilgore. Jimmy enjoyed hunting and taking cruises with his wife Georgia. He loved his job and his family and will be missed by everyone who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his father and brother Paul.
Those left behind to honor and cherish his memory is his loving wife, Georgia; sons, Charlie and wife Kathy Kilgore of Greenwood and Jimmy D Kilgore of Odessa; his mother, Avadell Kilgore; brother, Danny and wife Larenda Kilgore; sisters, Casandra and husband Charles Krugman of Midland, Christine Kilgore of Midland, and sister-in-law, Pat Kilgore of Denton, Texas; grandchildren, Katelyn Kilgore and Breanna Kilgore. Jimmy also leaves behind an extended family at the Midland Co. S.O., Midland Fire Department, Odessa Fire Department, Permian Basin Ambulance and Krisenda Criswell and family.
Family will receive friends on Monday, December 3 at Ellis Funeral Home, 801 Andrews Highway, between the hours of 6:00pm-8:00pm. A funeral service has been scheduled for Tuesday, December 4 at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00pm with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Sgt. Paul Urias, Deputy Barry Criswell, Deputy Ralph Gonzales, Deputy Jaime Garcia, Deputy Joanny Rodriguez and Retired Deputy Jim Cowell. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sheriff Gary Painter, Joe Kilgore and Dusty Kilgore.
