

Joyce was raised in Cleburne, TX, and after several moves, she made Midland her home where she married David Britcher on Dec. 3, 1986. Joyce worked at SW Bell from February 1980 to July 1988 in different positions starting as personnel clerk. She moved to district secretary and then on to Senior Stenographer. In 1988, she started her employment at the Midland Emergency Communication District as the Administrative Aide where she quickly moved into the Director of Communication on May 15, 1989. She was a member of NENA, APCO and the Texas Alliance of Directors where she served as Vice-Chair until her retirement.
Joyce is survived by her husband, David Britcher; daughter, Ginger Grimm and husband Matt, granddaughter McKinley; grandsons Mitchell and Marcus; honorary daughter Shelly Steel and husband Eddie and their 5 children, step-children; Daniel Blanch and wife Nicole, granddaughters Renee and Cara; Dave Britcher and wife Erica, grandchildren Christopher, Emily and Cameron; Barbi Blanch and sons Wesley and Ian; brother Kenneth Bosher of Arkansas; and sister Mae Oliver and her husband Jessie of Tennessee.
The memorial service will be Saturday, September 27, at 10:00am at Ellis Funeral Home in Midland, Texas, with Casey Oliver officiating. The address is 801 Andrews Hwy. (432) 683-5555
Following the memorial service there will a brunch at the First Baptist Church, Rooms 101 & 103, located at 611 N. Garfield, Midland. (North side parking lot)
