Joyce Johnson Carrell

She was born on January 29, 1930 in Midland to W. Elliott Johnson and Leota Grimes. In 1946 she married John Dub Carrell, June 1st made their 66th year of marriage. She was a member of Cotton Flat Baptist Church. Joyce also was in Pairs and Spare’s Sunday school class.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Clyde Johnson and sister, Christine Elms.

Left behind to cherish and honor her memory are her husband of 66 years, Dub Carrell; son, Bill and wife Margaret Carrell of Midland; daughters, Beverly and husband Charles Richardson of Midland and Rhonda and husband Richard Brown of Irving; brother, Travis and wife Marci Johnson of Florida; grandchildren: Melisa and husband Noland Potter, Jerry and wife Rebecca Richardson, Richard and wife Amanda Carrell, Christopher Brown, Wade Carrell and spouse Aggie Acosta, Jessica Carrell, Kristina Carter and Justin Alvarez; great-grandchildren: Kyle Richardson, Chaselyn Richardson, Shelby Potter, Elizabeth Talano, Megan Carrell, Taylor Richardson, Jaden Richardson, Justin Walker, Landree Carrell and Gage Carrell; sister-in-laws; Pat Green and Ann Johnson; brother-in-laws, Edward Carrell and Roy Oren Carrell and many nieces and nephews.

There will be a visitation today, from 6:00-8:00pm at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm Thursday, October 18, 2012 at the Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Rick Holeman officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
