

Lucille Robertson was born in Midland, Texas to George Jewell Robertson and Una Nora Robertson on January 29, 1917. She graduated from Wink High School and soon thereafter, was married to O.D. Huckabee. They moved to Brownfield, Texas, where they lived until moving to Andrews, Texas. Lucille was married to O.D. Huckabee for 65 years.
Lucille worked as a successful business woman in her own ladies’ ready-to-wear businesses. She began with her first business,“The Fashion Shop” in Andrews,Texas,where she became well known all around West Texas.She later opened a children’s business in Andrews and sold it before she opened her Midland business called “Lucille’s”.She finally closed her Andrews business and moved to Midland where she finished her career. Being a business woman, she didn’t have much time for hobbies,but her main interest was her only son, Ron (Ronnie, Coach, etc.) Huckabee.She has said many, many times over the years, “He was the love of my life.”
Lucille was preceded in death by, her parents, one brother, Ned Robertson; one sister, Dee Cloud; her husband, O.D. Huckabee, and her son, Ron Huckabee.
Lucille is survived by her daughter-in-law, Bobbie Huckabee of Midland, 3 grandchildren, Dub Huckabee and wife Cathie of Midland, Sheri Carr and husband David of Stanton, and Gary Huckabee and wife Angie of Forsan, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and great-great-great grandchildren, one niece Jeanne Latham and husband Bobby of Marble Falls, Texas, and a host of other family and friends.
She will lie in state Monday, January 20, 2014 at Ellis Funeral Home from 2:00p.m. to 9:00p.m.A graveside service will be held at 1:00p.m.,Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at Resthaven Memorial Park.Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.Online condolences may be offered at www.ellisfunerals.com.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to First Baptist Church of Midland, Home Hospice of Midland or the charity of your choice.
