

Owen was born on July 27, 1931 in Brownfield, Texas to James H. and Maude McDonald Parrish. He graduated from Union High School in Terry County and served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He attended Texas Tech and The University of Texas at Austin. He worked as a surveyor for the two years at Durango and Cortez, Colorado, then at the Texas Department of Transportation for thirty years, retiring in 1987. He then worked as a real estate broker and retired in 1997. He married Ann Sloan on May 14, 1977. He was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of Midland Masonic Lodge 623.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife; parents; brothers, Lucian Parrish who was killed in World War II, JC Parrish and Harold Parrish; sisters, Lola Shewmake and Dorothy Parrish.
He is survived by his sister, Lillian Bevers of Odessa; two nieces, Geraldine Jenkins and husband Dick of Dallas, Charlene Jones and husband Don of Odessa; two nephews, Jerry and wife Jan Parrish of Plains and Don and wife Suann Parrish of Plains.
Family will receive friends today at Ellis Funeral Home between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. A funeral service has been scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Bob Porterfield officiating.
