

Robert “Bob” Garst passed away Monday, September 2, 2013 in Midland TX. He was born January, 21, 1920 in Marshfield, MO to Lester H. Garst and Nanalee Day Garst. He married Edith Anderson on June 27, 1940 in Marshfield MO. He was a WWII Army Air Corp disabled American Veteran. He spent 37 years with Amoco Production Company, retired from Amoco and went to work for Flag-Redfern Oil Company for 10 years. He was a member of many Professional Land and Geological organizations and very active in Oil and Gas ventures until the end. He was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Midland.
Bob is survived by his wife Edith Garst of the home, a son Robert Garst Jr. and his wife Lily, of Burnet, TX; a daughter Judith Garst Brown of Midland; one sister Katherine Gray of Midland, Michigan; five grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The family will welcome friends at Ellis Funeral Home on Friday, September 6, 2013 from 6 pm- 8 pm. The funeral will be held Saturday, September 7, 2013 at the chapel at Ellis Funeral Home at 10:00 am, officiated by Reverend Dr. Tim Walker and Reverend Mackey Pitts. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons: Vince Garst, Randy Brown, Kelly Brown, Kim Rampick, Taylor Rampick, Holton Westbrook, Witt Westbrook, Ryan Brown, Hunter Brown and Sterling Brown.
