Sandra graduated from Midland High School in 1965. She began her working years at Midland First National Bank before choosing the role she valued most—devoting her life to her family as a homemaker, wife, and mother.
She married her high school sweetheart and soulmate, Johnnie Vines, and together they shared 60 beautiful years of marriage. Their love was steady, loyal, and enduring—a true partnership built on devotion and deep affection.
Sandra had a way of making life better simply by being in it. She was loving, sacrificial, loyal, and full of warmth, with a wonderful sense of humor that could lighten any room. She always put her children first and was a nurturing, devoted mother whose love knew no bounds.
She is survived by her husband, Johnnie Vines; her children, Shane Vines and wife Sherri S. Vines of Midland, Texas, Shawnda Vines of Midland, Texas, and Shelia Vines of Midland, Texas; her brother, Ron Turner and wife Kathi Turner of Las Vegas, Nevada; and her brother, Mark Turner of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur K. Turner and Billie L. Turner of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her sister, Carolyn Kay Hicks of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and her father- and mother-in-law, Troy and Imogene Vines of Midland, Texas.
Sandra had a tender heart for animals and shared her life with many beloved pets who are remembered fondly: Fancy, Sadie, Cody, and Gabby (“Fuzz”). She leaves behind her current cherished companions—Busy, Norman, Skip, and Stella.
She found joy in cooking, reading, flowers, plants, butterflies, and collecting angels and teapots. Her chocolate cake was legendary—eagerly anticipated at family gatherings and forever tied to memories of laughter, love, and togetherness.
Sandra was also blessed with dear friends who meant the world to her: Mary Franks, Nancy Vines, Shelia Grice, Donna Rankin Raff, Sparky White Stevens, Debbie Vines, and Susie Walker.
Serving as pallbearers are Shane Vines, Jay McKaskle, Lanny Vines, Jimmy Vines, Tommy Cole, Monty Goodman, Heath Cole, and Ricky McKaskle.
Sandra Turner Vines devoted her life to loving others, and her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to ask for contributions directed to Fix West Texas in Sandra's loving memory.
Wonderful Mom
Of all the special gifts in life, however great or small,
To have you as our mom was the greatest gift of all.
May the winds of love blow softly and whisper in your ear,
"We love and miss you, Mom, and wish that you were here."
Deep in our hearts, your life is kept to love and cherish, not forget.
No more tomorrows we can share, but yesterdays are always there.
