He graduated from Big Spring High School and retired as a Field Service Supervisor for the Oil and Gas Industry. He was a member of Primitive Baptist Church.
Steve is survived by his children, Anna Danielle Cottrell and husband Chad, Katy Laurel Mendoza and husband Ivan and Leah Suzanne Covington, brother, Michael Wesley Covington and wife Carrie; nephew, John Wesley Covington; nine grandchildren: Ryan, Taylor, Andrew, Jacob, Gavin, Hayden, Reese, Corbon and Audrey; nine great grandchildren: Harper, Aubrey, Zella, Jo, Ava, Karson, Danielle, Levi and Olive; and his beloved dog, Roco.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, May 1, 2025 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Ellis Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Friday, May 2nd at 3:00 PM at Resthaven Memorial Park.
