

The life of Virginia Lorraine Moore, a lifelong resident of Midland, was born on April 13, 1948, at a Kingsville, Texas, hospital, to her parents, Virginia Ferne Orr Moore and Joseph Victor Moore II. She attended Lee High School in Midland, Texas, Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas, UTPB in Odessa, Texas, and Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.
She was a passionate teacher who started her career teaching Spanish, although she was fluent in both Spanish and German. She was also a Special Education teacher who held a Master’s Degree in Inclusion. She taught at Permian High School in Odessa, Texas.
Her second passion was raising a family and traveling all over Texas with her mom and daughter. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Midland for many years.
Virginia is survived by her daughter, Catherine Oakley Moore of Cypress, Texas; her "granddogs", Bella, Bleo, Dutchess, Duke, Madison, Chloe, Paige, and her service dog, Princess Clara Elizabeth. She is also survived by extended family members Phillip Davis, Beverly Woodfin, Holly Woodfin, Luke Davis, and Emma Davis who she loved dearly.
She will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
Visitation with Virginia’s family will be at Ellis Funeral Home in Midland from 5pm to 7pm on Tuesday August 9, 2016. The memorial service will be held at 1pm on Wednesday August 10, 2016 at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel in Midland. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland.
