

SAVEDGE, Anne, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2023, surrounded by the love of family and friends, in her home in Midlothian, VA. She has joined her Heavenly Father after a courageous battle with dementia and cancer. She was 89.
Anne is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 60 years, Henry Scott, and their children: Anne DeLeo (Art) of Charleston, South Carolina; Scott Savedge (Kyna) of Charlotte, NC; Kent Savedge (Tara) of Richmond, VA; and Lyn Page (Mike) of Midlothian VA. She also is survived by her nine grandchildren: Sarah Atkinson, Griffin Savedge, Grace Savedge, Katie Page, Emily Page, Jake Savedge, Henry Page, Riley Savedge and Jackson Savedge. Also surviving are her sister Becky Surotchak, numerous nieces and nephews, and their families.
Anne was born in Farmville, VA, on May 5, 1934, to Evelyn and Husie Glenn, who preceded her in death, along with her sister Sarah Koenig. She met her husband in 1960 when they worked for Reynolds Metals Company. She was a member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and The Country Club of Virginia. She was an active member at Bon Air Baptist Church since 1965, where she was a Sunday school teacher and assisted with youth choir productions. She also was a member of the Discovery Bible Study Class.
Anne’s grandchildren were her pride and joy. She cherished her time with them during their holidays together and at their “pool house” in Hallieford, VA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Glenn/Savedge Scholarship, Longwood University Foundation, Inc., 201 High Street, Farmville, VA 23909. Following a private burial at Hollywood Cemetery, a service celebrating Anne’s life will be held at Bon Air Baptist Church, Buford Road, on Monday, November 6, at 2:00 PM, followed by a reception in the Commons.
The family is especially grateful for the prayers and support from Anne and Henry’s friends, specifically their neighbors Steve and Beverley Burnett and Dick and Maria Denneker; her devoted and compassionate caregivers Yvonne Ruttley and Sandy Stilgenbaurer; her dementia care practitioner Missy Harden, and the team at Suncrest Hospice.
