She was preceded in death by her mother, Lucy Evans; her sister, Linda Davis; her son, Ernest Crawford, Jr.; and granddaughter, Daisha Guilford.
She is survived by her daughters, Alicia Smith, Barbrette Jones and Bridgette Jones; her brother, James Douglas Evans; her sisters, Charlene Harris and Velet Jones; great-niece, Debbie Barbie-Davis; grandchildren, Anthony Johnson, Jr., Matthew Robinson, Adriene Johnson, Jalicia Robinson, Dominique Johnson, Allena Edmonds, Nazhir Crawford, Nylah Crawford, Marley Trimiew, Mason Trimiew, Connor Mansour, Abraham Crawford, Mina Trimiew and Riella Crawford; and a host of extended family and friends who will all miss her dearly.
She was a native of Virginia but loved to be warm, so she moved to Florida for 13 years and then to Texas. She retired from the United States Post Office, Richmond Main Branch, after 33 years. She loved reading her bible, quoting scripture and telling people what to do. If you knew her well, you know she would always say "doo-dupe," which meant I'm not going to say anything that's going to get me in trouble with the Lord. She loved being on the back porch, reading the Word and praising the Lord. Her love and compassion for others was exhibited by babysitting and taking in children throughout her life. She loved going to the resort with Laura Bailey and the "Golden Girls," planting flowers, and playing cards with her friends, Pam, illicent, Audrey, Aaron, Dale, Dominique, Jalicia, Matthew and Lonnie, but most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She had a special relationship with her prayer partners, Hope, Mama Dee, Miss Margaret and Antionette.
