

BOYLE, Mrs. Betty Fletcher, 79, of Richmond, Virginia, died peacefully in her home on Thursday, October 2, 2014. Betty was born to the late Ernest and Virgie Fletcher on April 23, 1935, in Richmond. She is survived by her devoted husband, William "Don" D. Boyle Sr.; their children, Danielle Fincher (Joel), Damien, Virginia Liberatore, Michael (Bobbi), William Jr. (Kathryn); nine grandchildren, one great-granddaughter; and her loving sister, Margret Draper.
As a young girl, Betty was a gifted vocalist and pianist, who performed on local radio stations and had a winning smile. She won a music scholarship from the radio station to attend James Madison University, where she met Don, the love of her life, in 1953. The pair wed in Richmond two years later. Betty has always dreamed of a large family, and together, she and Don had five children. In addition to being a devoted mother,
Betty was also an active member of her community. She served as a PTA president, Sunday School teacher, choir director, scout leader, and member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. She was also a devout Catholic, who placed her trust in the Lord.
The family is sincerely grateful to all who provided love and support throughout her illness.
The family will receive friends Monday, October 6, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd., A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 7, at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church.
