

She was preceded in death by her husband Bobby, her parents, Bert and Verna Watson and her sister Madge VanDyke.
She is survived by her three children Kathy Meadows, Michael Strader and Mary Strader; her favorite son-in-law, John Meadows and her favorite daughter-in-law, Lynn Strader; four grandsons, Jonathan and Kyle Meadows (Sara), Payne and Dayton Strader; two great-grandchildren, Waylon and Willow Meadows; one sister, Sue Nuckols, one brother, Richard Watson (Sharon) and a host of nieces and nephews.
Betty Jo was born December 31, 1934 in North Wilkesboro, NC. She moved to Richmond, VA in her early 20’s and married the love of her life, Bobby, on July 27, 1957.
She retired from Georgia Pacific after 33 years of service. Not one to be bored, she went to work at Chippenham Hospital in Registration and finally retired at the age of 80.
She had a lot of names, Betty, Betty Jo(e), Bet, Mom, Mama Strader and DoDo. However, her favorite name of all was Nanny.

The family will receive Friends at Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road, Midlothian, VA 23113 on Thursday, April 3rd at 2 pm, with a Memorial Service to follow at 3 pm.
