SHIPLETT, Carolyn Gravely, 65, of Midlothian, passed away May 31, 2013. Survivors include her husband, Samuel S. Shiplett; two children, Stuart Shiplett and Kathryn Shiplett Knight; five grandchildren, Matthew, Garrett, Riley, Grace and Olivia; her parents, Doug and Eunice Gravely; brother, Steven Gravely; and sister, Mary Gravely Vlahos.
Carolyn was the retired owner of Sycamore Pewter and Gifts in Midlothian. She was a graduate of Martinsville (Va.) High School and attended Madison College.
Her remains rest at the Huguenot Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 3, 2013, and where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2013. Interment will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Thornrose Cemetery in Staunton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Advancement Office of Hampden-Sydney College, P.O.
