 Obituario de Cheryl Reeder Eckert
Cheryl Reeder Eckert of Midlothian, Virginia passed away Saturday, May 7, 2022. Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, James Louis Reeder, and her mother, Laura Craig Reeder. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Peter Steven Eckert; sons Scott Clayton Eckert and his wife Sarah of Richmond, Virginia and Jeffrey Brook Eckert and his wife Kelsie of Campton, New Hampshire; and sisters, Elaine Catherine Reeder and Linda Reeder Tuskey of Richmond. She was a proud “Nana” to her grandsons Warren and Peter and her granddaughters Chloe and Ellie. Born in Richmond in 1953, Cheryl graduated from Douglas Freeman High School in 1971 and Virginia Commonwealth University in 1975. She was a member of The Second Church of Christ, Scientist. Cheryl was a high school English teacher before she decided to stay home to raise her two sons. Cheryl and Peter built two businesses, Eckert & Company and Resource Realty, that they are now passing down to their son Scott. Cheryl will be remembered as thoughtful, quick to laugh, and the kind of person that strikes up a conversation with a stranger in line at the grocery store. Service to her community has always been important to her, including volunteer work at church, sponsoring students in Nairobi, Kenya, and organizing gala events for a local women’s shelter. Visitation will be at Woody Funeral Home Huguenot Chapel, 1020 Huguenot Road, Midlothian, Virginia on Monday, May 16, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make a contribution to the charity of their choice in Cheryl’s honor.
