I can’t believe it has been two years.  I still miss our weekly calls where we could catch up with each other or I could ask for advice.  You always spent quality time with me – we would do puzzles, play cards or games, go for bike rides or walks.  I miss you so much.  I hope you are doing well in heaven.

Remembering my sweet, compassionate, tender husband , on this the second anniversary of his departure. I miss him everyday

Dad enjoyed traveling and exploring new places, often staying at a remote bed and breakfast.  He loved sailing and took pride in the upkeep of his sailboat.  He loved cars, especially convertibles.  Dad was a can-do kind of father. He was a builder, carpenter, plumber, painter, mechanic, etc.  He was always willing to help us out, show us how to tackle a project, or fix something that needed to be repaired. I learned a lot from him and I'm a better person because of him.  Dad, fair winds and following seas.

I have so many sweet memories with my dear Popop, though my favorite includes sharing Hershey's Miniatures together. I certainly received my sweet tooth from him! He was an excellent gardener and birdwatcher: two things I have grown to love as an adult, thanks to him. Though he was a man of few words, I never questioned his love for me and his family, which I believe speaks volumes of who he was as a person. I'll never forget his gentle impact on my life!

I have so many fond memories of my PopPop. He always took the time to play with me growing up, whether it was old maid’s for the 15th time that day or letting me ‘host’ a cooking show on their toy kitchen set in the living room. He always made time to play with me or go for a walk to the play set. He grew the best tomatoes and I loved the competition to grow the first tomato of the season. His hatred of squirrels was unmatched. But most of all, I will miss our pita sandwiches with lays potatoes chips and a dessert from Ukrops that we got to have—no matter his blood sugar levels. Those lunches were my favorite as we got to sit together and listen to stories of your past. I will miss you so much PopPop. 

Our Dad lived an incredibly full life.  He had so many passions, but often liked the quiet things in life like reading, puzzles, playing computer games, or playing games like back gammon & cribbage. Some of my fondest memories were times we would go camping, or sailing down in the Chesapeake Bay,  or travels to Ft. Lauderdale.  Dad cared deeply about his children and wanted to be sure we were all educated and well cared for.  I just cannot imagine not having our weekly calls and catching up.  We love you Dad and will miss you greatly.  See you in heaven.  Save me some Special Darks.

My Dad was the best father a child could ask for.  He spent quality time with us.  He was never too busy for us.  He included us in everything.  He definitely enjoyed life - going to the beach in Fort Lauderdale, sailing on the Chesapeake Bay, camping near Lake Gaston, taking us on bike rides, playing games, etc.  He always kept things light - making jokes.  I will miss our weekly phone calls and his smiling face.  I loved him so much.  I would have done anything for him and I know he would have done anything for me.  I will love you always and forever.  Thank you for being you Dad!

Don and I had 36 wonderful years. We did so many things together, with laughter, tears,  many memories of our shared life with children and each other. I will miss him everyday.
