Donald Paxton Franklin

Donald Paxton Franklin, 78, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2015. He was born to the late Clyde and Dorothy Franklin on March 26, 1936. Donald was a US Army veteran. He retired from Atlantic Metal Products as Operations Manager after 50 years of service. Donald was also preceded in death by his sister Deane F. Carlton, and also his parents.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years Peggy Franklin, his four children; Susan F. Warren (Danny), Dale F. Catlett (Robert), James (Cheryl) Kimberley P Gillikin (William), six grandchildren; Amy, Amanda, Matt, Molly, Jason, and Lauren. Three great- grandchildren Cayden, Ryan, and Arayah. Donald is survived by his brother William E. Franklin (Norma), Sister Claudia F Autry (Kenneth) and a brother in law Bruce Carlton, and also Donald’s beloved dog “Coco”

The family will receive friends at the Woody Funeral home, Huguenot Chapel on Friday, January 9, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00pm. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, January 10, 2015 11:00am at Redeemer Lutheran Church; 9400 Redbridge Rd. Richmond, VA, interment will follow at Chesterfield Baptist Church cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family ask donations be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church, 9400 Redbridge Rd. Richmond, VA. or the American Cancer Society.
