Elizabeth (Libby) Lancaster

Elizabeth (Libby) Ann Lancaster peacefully passed away on January 12th, 2021 at the age of 97. Libby was born on October 4th, 1923 in Owensboro Kentucky. She completed Business School and then worked as a legal secretary among other positions. After marrying Walter, they moved to Louisville, KY and then moved frequently, following his job assignments, to locations in Alabama, Indiana and Northern VA before settling in Richmond. Libby was an incredible homemaker, and involved mother, worked a variety of part time jobs and held many voluntary positions during her married years. Libby has been a member of Bon Air Baptist Church for many years where she was very active. She was an avid volunteer there as well as with other organizations. Libby is preceded in death by her husband Walter, 2 brothers and 5 sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Jo Lawlor, her son, Steven Lancaster, son-in-law, John Lawlor and daughter-in-law, Dianne Lancaster. Libby has 4 grandchildren: Angela Latura, Andrew Lancaster, Kevin Lawlor, and Michael Snider, a grandson-in-law, Eric Latura and 3 great grandchildren: Ryan, Nolan and Lucas. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 23 at 11 am at Woody Funeral Home – Huguenot Chapel, at 1020 Huguenot Road, Midlothian, VA 23113. Interment will follow the service at Dale Memorial Park. Libby will be greatly missed by her family.
