

Midlothian, VA — Major Frederick, “Fred,” Lyle Moore, II, age 45, died on Friday, August 14, 2015. Major Moore is survived by his beloved wife, Angel, and the two daughters he adored, Olivia and Emily Moore. He also leaves behind his parents, Frederick and Rosalyn Moore of Suffolk, VA, a sister, Amy Ring and her husband Kirk of Smithfield, VA, as well as four nieces and nephews: Kirk, Elise, Cameron and Madison.
Fred was born in Newport News and grew up in Denbigh. He was active in Scout Troop 6 where he received his Eagle Scout. Fred received his bachelor’s degree from James Madison University and his master’s degree from American Military University.
Fred served over 20 years in both the US Army and Virginia Army National Guard, where he was a Mobilization Readiness Officer at Fort Pickett. During his service, Fred deployed to South Korea, Iraq and Afghanistan for which he received many awards.
A viewing will be held at 1:00 PM with a memorial service immediately following beginning at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 19, 2015, at Parkway Baptist Church, 8508 Beaver Bridge Road, Moseley, Virginia.
