BORDEN, Gayle Britton, 69, of Richmond, died on December 8, 2012. Her compassion for others and kind and caring nature will continue to live on through her family and friends. Survivors include her loving husband of 28 years, G. Peyton Borden of Richmond; one sister, Carole B. Haller (Mitchell) of York, Pa.; one niece, Susan M. Haller (Howard) of Van Nuys, Cal.; and her very special adopted family, Betty, Troy, Tyler and Hannah Coleman, all of Chesterfield. After her 36 year career with the Federal Government, Gayle thoroughly enjoyed her retirement years. She was an avid mall walker, loved scrapbooking, crossword puzzles, knitting afghans for Virginia veterans and From the Heart Stitchers, previous part-time job with Companion Care assisting those in need, and her 5 year hospice volunteer work. Although death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves memories no one can steal. The Huguenot Chapel of Woody Funeral Home is in charge of her cremation services. Honoring Gayle’s wishes, no visitation or memorial service will be held. In Gayle’s memory, expressions of sympathy may be made to Massey Cancer Center, P.O. Box 980037, Richmond, Va. 23286-0441.
