Helen Jean Buwalda

She was the widow of her faithful husband, Robert Buwalda and leaves behind her children, Robert A. Buwalda (Joann), Joy Van Dyke (Alan), Gary Buwalda (Michelle); grandsons, Gregory (Natalie), Kyle (Kaitlin), Joshua (Sarah), Jacob (Katelyn), Cory, Michael, Thomas, Ryan; great grandchildren, Bethany, David, Mia, Aaron, Harper, Audrey, Maggie; sister, Linda (William) Hermann; and extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her three brothers, Herman Hagedorn (Dorothy), John Hagedorn (Karen), Richard Hagedorn (Donna).

Upon the arrival of her first born, Helen left her career to steadfastly focus on raising a family. Helen excelled in her calling as a wife and mother. Her Christian faith was an essential part of her life while serving others within the church community with a humble and gracious heart.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 PM on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at Woody Funeral Home Huguenot Chapel, 1020 Huguenot Road, Midlothian, VA 23113. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Woody Funeral Home Huguenot Chapel.
