

Born in Richmond, Virginia, on September 26, 1946, he was the son of the late Howard E Timberlake, Jr. and Louise Sheridan Timberlake.
After graduating from Henrico High School, he served in the US Army as an amphibious operator and received several medals and citations. He worked for Timberlake Brothers Towing and later became owner of that business. He was also employed by the Virginia Department of Corrections. HE was a founding member of the Veterans of Foreign War (VFW) Post 9808, before it moved to its present location in Mechanicsville.
He enjoyed attending sporting events, watching old movies, fishing, cooking, catering, traveling and collecting antiques. In his younger years, H.E. sponsored several local softball teams and worked as an umpire for Chesterfield County.
In addition to his wife of 30 years, H.E. is survived by his children and step-children, Howard Edward Timberlake IV, and Karen Timberlake McNeill, Debra Purks (C.C.), James T. Creed, Sr. (Danelle); seven grandchildren, Sheridan McNeill, Cutler McNeill, Spencer Purks, Courtney Purks, Hillary Ritter, James T. Creed, Jr, Darcy Creed; a sister, Jackie T Craver (Chris), and other extended family members. He is also leaving behind long time friends Mark and Janice Guedri and Thomas and Sandra Creed.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 10 from 3-7pm at Woody Funeral Home - Huguenot. A funeral will be held at 11am on Wednesday, January 11 in the Woody Chapel with interment following at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia.
