Janice Payne Burd

Janice Payne Burd fell asleep in the Lord on April 24, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Paul M. Burd, son Glenn M. Burd, and beloved sister-in-law Jean C. Burd. She is survived by her son James M. Burd (Carol) of Winchester, VA; grandsons James T. Burd (Ashley) of Pawley's Island, SC, and Sean P. Burd (Ariel) of Locust Grove, VA; granddaughter Hillary C. Brewer (Keith) of Cullman, AL; three great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Janice was born on August 1, 1927 in Chesterfield County, VA to Arthur and Ruth Payne. She was the youngest of five children. She graduated from John Marshall High School, and was employed by the state of Virginia until retirement. Janice enjoyed music, gardening, puzzling, bird watching, and bible study in the Christadelphian faith. The family will receive friends at 10 AM on Friday, May 3rd at Woody Funeral Home Huguenot Chapel. A funeral service will follow the visitation, officiated by Barry Hewitson. The family will proceed to a private graveside service. The family would like to thank Alan and Jan Michael, Bill and Julie Gibbs, and their families, for Janice's loving care in her later years.
