Jayne Thomas Shiflett of Powhatan, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, October 4, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband and son W. Charles Shiflett, Jr. and Stephen Thomas Shiflett. She is survived by six children, Frances Shiflett Seaton, Grace Shiflett Myers, W. Charles Shiflett, III (Gwen), Rebekah L. Shiflett, Ronald H. Shiflett (Marya), and Rolfe H. Shiflett (Julie); 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Jayne was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. A life-long quilter, gardener, and world traveler, she will be missed by all of those whose lives she touched.
A celebration of her life will be held Friday, October 7 at 2 p.m. at the Huguenot Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road, with Interment following at Powhatan Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A reception will follow the interment service at Willow Oaks Country Club.
