Jean Carol Whitmore

Jean Carol (Bressler) Whitmore, 83, of Richmond departed this life on Tuesday, December 8, 2015. She is preceded in death by her parents Harold and Cecelia(Franz) Bressler, a sister Shirley Rowland, and her ex-husband Robert S. Whitmore. She is survived by her daughter Nancy Whitmore(Ellen Bacon) of Richmond, two sisters: Dorothy Reid of Haige, VA and Donna Belvin of Midlothian. Jean Carol was blessed with many nieces and nephews including: Leroy Cotrell, Rhonda Harler, Russell Rowland, Raymond Reid, Jr., Janet Ellena, Natalie Meredith, and Jaqueline Whitmore, seven Whitmore nieces and nephews as well as a host of great nieces and nephews.

Jean Carol was employed with C&P Telephone Co. for 42 years where she made life long friends. She was a member of Woodland Heights Baptist Church for 65 years where she served as a Sunday School teacher, youth counselor, and a missions leader. She also served the River City Faith Network(RBA) as clerk.

Family and friends will gather for a visitation at Woody’s Huguenot Chapel December 14th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A Memorial Service will be held atWoodland Heights Baptist Church on December 15th at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Woodland Heights Baptist Church 611 W 31st Street 23225.
