

Kenna Miranda Kathryn Bartle, age 29, of Midlothian, Virginia, passed away peacefully at home on February 27, 2023, stricken with a recently diagnosed life-threatening medical condition. She is survived by her devoted parents, Debbie and Gary Bartle and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, colleagues, and friends. She was predeceased by her grandparents.
Kenna lived a rich life, full of music, theater, dance, travel, family and friends. Her educational experience included Richmond Montessori School, Appomattox Regional Governor’s School, George Mason University, and Metropolitan State University of Denver. Her professional life included working as a classroom assistant teacher at a Goddard School in Denver, Colorado, then as a special education paraprofessional at Skinner Middle School, also in Denver. Her last work home was at Beulah Elementary School in Chesterfield, Virginia, working for one year as a literacy instructional aide, and this year Kenna was teaching 3rd grade at Beulah Elementary School.
Kenna was an actress and a dancer, performing in many dance and theater productions from elementary school through post-college. Kenna loved to travel and visited France many times with her parents. She also traveled to England, Ireland, Mexico, Martinique, Switzerland and many areas of the United States.
Kenna had a great sense of humor and was always ready with a quip. She made friends everywhere she went. Her legacy is the many lives she touched and the light she brought to all who knew her.
A celebration of Kenna’s life will take place on Saturday, March 11, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Unitarian Universalist Church located at 1000 Blanton Avenue in Richmond, Virginia. Her ashes will be scattered at the places she loved in the world.
In lieu of flowers, donations to honor Kenna may be made to the Chesterfield Education Foundation. Donations will be used for programs at Beulah Elementary in Kenna’s name. Donations may also be made in Kenna’s honor to the Jewish Family Theater at the Weinstein JCC at weinsteinjcc.org
