Margaret Russell Emmons

EMMONS, Margaret Russell, 92, of Midlothian, VA, passed away on August 28, 2016. She is predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Rev. Robert H. Emmons. She is survived by a son, David Emmons (Wanda) of New Jersey; daughters, Barbara Klanian (Chazz) of Virginia, Cindy Emmons of Virginia and Carol Medford (Matt) of Ohio. Also, grandchildren, Roberta Moore (Tom),Samantha Popowitch (Keith), Melissa Juhr (Corey), Kelly Williams (Scott), Cory Greene (Zack), Nathan Medford (Lyndsey), Aaron Medford. Great-grandchildren, Katelyn Moore, Kara Moore, Colin Emmons, Jenna Popowitch, Logan Juhr, Landon Juhr, Elizabeth Greene, Grayson Greene, Caroline Greene, Chase Williams and one brother, William T. Russell (Bea)

Margaret graduated from the College of Wooster in Ohio and later, using her social work degree, set about the task of helping people. Enjoying life with her family, she especially loved camping with them in the Adirondack Mountains for many years.

Upon retirement she kept active with volunteer work, gardening (green thumb), traveling worldwide with her husband enjoying Elderhostels, social activities at Brandermill Woods, plus knitting and sewing. She was a member of Bon Air Baptist Church and most important to her, was sharing time with her family.

A celebration of her life will take place on Thursday, September 1, 11 AM at Bon Air Baptist Church. The family will receive visitors at the church at 10 AM, prior to the service. Private family interment at Dale Memorial Park
