

HORTON, Marian Elizabeth Perkins, 87, of Midlothian, died April 1, 2010. She is survived by her devoted husband, Eugene Birge Horton Jr. She was preceded in death by her great-grandchildren, Grace and Hayden Stephens; her five sisters, Helen, Vernelle, Myrtle, Margaret, and Barbara; and her two brothers, Ernest and Roger. She proudly served the county as a welder during WWII. She was later an employee of Thalhimers Department Store. She was a longtime member of Saint Barnabas Episcopal Church where she served as a member of the Altar Guild, sang in the choir, and taught Sunday school. She was a grand prize winning member of the Woodberry Garden Club and a master quilter donating her work to charity. She moved to Houston, Texas where she worked for Theatre Under the Stars.
Marian is also survived by three daughters, Norma Bryant, Janet Campbell, and Lynn Dawes; a devoted son-in-law, Thomas Campbell; seven grandchildren, Tammy Caggiano, Lisa Stephens, Heather Fanguy, Jonathan Campbell, Zachary Campbell, Connor Hartley, and Joseph Hartley; and nine great-grandchildren, Samantha and Jessica Fanguy, Kristina and Nick Caggiano, Walker and James Stephens, and Angel, Lucas, and Abram Campbell; and brother-in-law, Robert Kirby. She will also be remembered by countless friends and relatives who will miss her generous and loving nature, great sense of humor, beautiful voice, numerous talents, and the fun and excitement she brought to everything she did. A visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the Huguenot Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road, Midlothian. A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Assembly of God, 233 N. Courthouse Road, Richmond.
