Marie was born and raised in Farmville, VA to parents William A. Watson Ill and Betty P. Watson. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband Samuel H. Goodpasture and her step-daughter Angela N. Goodpasture. Marie is also survived by her brother William E. "Gene" Watson (Patsy) and sisters Larkin W. Fields and Margaret W. Whitlock (Wayne). Surviving brothers-in-law include H. Glenn Goodpasture (Brenda), Mark D. Goodpasture (Susan) and Dr. Rev. David A. Goodpasture (Jannette). Additional survivors include sisters-in-law M. Carol Goodpasture and Mary K. Powell (Brian) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Marie graduated from Prince Edward Academy and Longwood College and worked as an Office Manager her entire career. Marie loved her family, her dog Lacy, time at the lake house and Va Tech athletics. She will be sorely missed.
Friends and family will gather at Woody Funeral Home, Huguenot Chapel, 1020 Huguenot Road, Midlothian, VA at 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 22 for visitation and a memorial service.
Interment will be held at a later date.
