

She was preceded in death by parents Vicente Hicaro and Soledad; Brothers Cesar and Eduardo Hicaro.
She is survived by husband Walter Bailey Jr.; Stepsons Brian Bailey (Julie) and Walter Bailey III; Step Grandchildren Sydney, Connor and Audrey; Sister-in-law Mary Elizabeth; Brother-in-law David; Step Nephew Charles Holmes; Brothers Lito (Leny) and Manny; Sisters Ettah (Goody), Teresa (Caloy) and Marj (Rumy); Sister-in-law Marie; Nephews Bien (Cecilia), Jun (Kia), Alvin (Sylvia), Eric, Cyrus, Chester, and EJ (Danica); Nieces Liza, Rachelle (Garrett), Avon, and Ielle; Grandnephews Deen and Austin; Grandnieces Aubrey, Ashlyn, Sophia, and Kailan.
Marilou was born in Bicol, Philippines on April 4th, 1949. She graduated high school from St. Joseph's Academy in Sariaya, Quelon. Marilou obtained a BSN degree from Philippine Women's University, and went on to retire as a staff nurse from Johnston-Willis Hospital after 37 years of service. Working in the critical care units, she moved from the Philippines to Richmond in 1974 where she lived until her death with a brief employment in Newport Richey Florida Community Hospital in between.
Marilou enjoyed bowling, watching baseball, traveling, singing, dancing, and had a passion for cooking. She also loved family gatherings.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 8:00 pm on February 18th, 2026, at Woody Funeral Home. There will be a catholic mass at 12 noon at the Church of the Epiphany located at 11000 Smoketree Dr, North Chesterfield, VA, 23236.
The interment will held at 2:00 pm at Dale Memorial Park, located at 10201 Newby's Bridge Rd, Chesterfield, VA, 23832.
